Date of death: November 29, 2019 Blood type: O Inoue Makio was born November 30, 1940 in Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan. He was a veteran voice actor (seiyuu) affiliated with Aoni Production. Inoue died on November 29, 2019 due to worsening angina. He was 80 years old. He began voice acting in the '60s, landing small roles in Astroboy, and was the actor of choice for deep-voiced, serious males in the '70s. Toward the end of his career, Inoue rarely took on new roles (but he did have a cameo in Samurai Champloo, playing Mariya Enshirou in episodes 24–26). He was most noted for his two longstanding roles as the title character in Captain Harlock from 1978 though the '80s and '90s (Yamadera Kouichi of Cowboy Bebop fame took over this role in 1998), and Ishikawa Goemon XIII of Lupin III from 1977 through his death (taking over from Ootsuka Chikao, who played the role in '71 and '72).
