About

Japanese artist ShiShi Yamazaki's signature style is bright and girly watercolors, often brought to life via rotoscoping. The time-consuming animation technique requires Yamazaki trace her drawings and their movements frame by frame. In 2017, she created a short film for Chanel featuring model Cara Delevigne using this method, a fresh and fun take on fashion ads. ShiShi has also collaborated with top companies like Airbnb and Shiseido. Her original animation "YA-NE-SEN a Go Go," a dance-happy short, was screened at SXSW.
