Birthplace: Tokyo, Japan After graduating from the Visual Concept Planning Department at Osaka University of Arts, Takashi Fukumoto joined the Computer Graphics Group of the Department of Technology at Osaka University to work on creating CG animation with engineers who developed the "Links-1", the very first CG dedicated system in Japan. In 1982, Fukumoto joined Toyo Links Corporation, Japan's pioneering CG production company. There he was an engineer on the technology used for the CG scenes in Golgo 13 and worked on the films Bio-Sensor and Peppy. In 1989, Fukumoto joined Polygon Pictures where he worked on planning and developing their original CG characters. Joining Links Corporation in 1999, Fukumoto proposed a merger between CG production and motion capture, establishing Links DigiWorks. There he produced cinematics for various video games and the award winning animated film Kudan. As of 2015, Fukumoto serves as a professor at Kanagawa Institute of Technology. (Source: ASIFA-Japan)
