Birthplace: Tokyo, Japan Ichirou Tanida is a Japanese commercial director, graphic designer, and CG creator. After graduating from Toyo Art School in 1986, he joined BISE and began working as a graphic designer. In 1987, he formed Neo-Art-Group with Hiro Sugiyama. Since 1994, he has released numerous works as a 3D CG creator, and in 1996, he founded the creative studio "John and Jane Doe Inc." In 2004, he formed ART DESIGN with Kashiwa Satou and produced short films. He currently works mainly on commercials, but also works in a wide range of genres including video, CG, and illustration. He directs more than 30 commercials a year. In recent years, he has produced many wood carvings. In the Commercial Director's File (a commercial photo supplement that lists directors in alphabetical order), it has become an annual tradition for him to exchange private letters with commercial director Ichirou Tani, whose name is only one letter different from his.
